I’ll never learn…..
I read another E.J. Dionne column, and now I’m dumber. (I get the same way with David Broder)
It really sucks to live in a place where the smartest columnist is Kornheiser. The purpose of an op-ed piece is to relay some information, with some spin involved. I accept that. Dionne and Broder always leave me wondering what the hell their point is.
Broder is the “dean of the Washington press corps”…. that is journalistic slang for “he’s not dead yet.” I don’t give a damn that Helen Thomas is the longest-serving White House correspondent. Who gives a rat’s-ass ? She’s a shrill and stupid old biddy who has no business being there in the first place.
And just to prove my chops, that Jeff G…. whatever his name is… he didn’t belong there either.
When do we start to get some seriousness, and not so much silliness ? Government has- much to my chagrin- become serious business. Journalism should do the same. Serious matters should be dealt with by serious people. Maybe that’s why Limbaugh and Fox News kick the crap out of everyone else….
When you have serious matters that need to be explained, and you need intelligent and serious people to explain them…. Larry King and Nancy Grace, Keith Olberman and Anderson Cooper…. maybe not the best people to explain.
