More news that isn’t news

Brangelina is laying down the pissy Hollywood law:

Brad Pitt, ever the social activist, says he won’t be marrying Angelina Jolie until the restrictions on who can marry whom are dropped.

“Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able,” the 42-year-old actor reveals in Esquire magazine’s October issue, on newsstands Sept. 19.

Oh well Bradley, looks like you and “Angie” will just have to have more bastard children and make more movies I’ll never see for a while longer.

For me, when it comes to a whiney celebrity with social causes and family opinions, I’ll stick with Bono. At least he can sing.

If I ever start taking my poltical and social views from a celebrity in movies, music, or TV…. someone please shoot me.

The Shields-Cruise fued has cooled. Hallelujah !

Brooke Shields says Tom Cruise has apologized for publicly criticizing her use of antidepressants after the birth of her first daughter.

The two had a public beef last year after the “Mission: Impossible III” star, echoing the position of Scientology, said in an appearance on NBC’s “Today” show that depression can be treated with exercise and vitamins rather than drugs.

The 41-year-old actress says Cruise apologized in person Thursday.

Now will Cruise apologize to all the “fans” for movies like Vanilla Sky, War or the Worlds, Eyes Wide Shut ?

Mas Telemundo por favor

Posted in Pop Culture, Movies at 11:38 pm by JB

Gotta love Telemundo (or whatever it’s called these days). Where else can you watch really bad American movies in a language you (or at least I) don’t understand.

And some of the voice-over people they use are hi-larious. Flipping through I ran across “Con Honores” (”With Honors” for you anglophiles) and the cat they have doing Pesci’s voice sounds like a lunatic.

Come to think of it….

The “baby milk plant” sign outside the weapons factory reminds me a little of….

Did you guys and girls see the first Kevin Smith movie “Clerks” ? Very funny. Very profane. Clerks II comes out this weekend. Anyway….

All during the movie people keep asking Dante why he smells like shoe-polish. The reason is because he got called into work (I’m not even supposed to BE HERE TODAY) and someone had put gum in the locks of the garage door at the Kwik-E-Mart (fucking savages) so Dante had to paint a message on a sheet, at the last minute, to relay the message “I assure you, we’re open”. Doesn’t this sign, from Sadaam’s Iraq, smell like shoe-polish ?

From the “I might try to care less but I don’t think it’s metaphysically possible” file:

After a highly publicized absence this week from the set of Morgan Creek Prods.’ “Georgia Rule,” Lindsay Lohan has returned to work.

Well THANK GOD FOR THAT !!! I know you’ve all been so worried, and I am proud to be the bearer of such good news.
