Doggone it. I never have enough time on my hands to riot in the streets over a simple, stupid comment by the Pope. Darn.
Of course, if I did, I’d be doing this. I’d rather flyfish than riot.
The Pope did say one thing that makes some sense.
“God,” the emperor, as the pope quoted, said, “is not pleased by blood — and not acting reasonably is contrary to God’s nature.”
Guess these chaps are screwed!

Can’t beat it. Give me a big old trout any day over the latest “revelation” about Princess Di.

One of our standards on the White River in Colorado. Humpys are great for fast-water flyfishing. Nice float, very visible. And I agree with the poster on this site:
“Not the easiest pattern to tie but well worth the effort. The Yellow, Red and Green variants will all prove to be worthwhile having in the fly box, whichever part of the world you may find yourself in.”
Definitely NOT the easiest pattern to tie. I’ve tried them, but I’ve pretty much resorted to buying them from the experts.

My old man introduced me to this fly on a stream near Saratoga, Wyoming. He saw a rise, laid down a perfect cast, and hooked a nice 3 lb. rainbow. It’s an ugly thing…a crude looking fly, HUGE by fly standards, but he nailed a good-sized trout with it. His version didn’t have the orange coloring.

But he likes fishing too, and we all know that fish are very dangerous.

…My old friend “Tucker.” Been fishing the White at his place since I was a young kid. Caught many a beautiful ‘bow and brown here with my Dad. And “Tuck” is gem of a guy. Not that I want my childhood haunt to be visited by a bunch of people, but if it gives Tuck more business, it’s allright by me.

…then I’m wasting my time with thread, hackle, dubbing, elkhair, and goathair. I can only hope that it’s more complicated than it looks.
